We’ll head up through the Bear Valley OHV trail where you’ll have the opportunity to do both Winch Hill 1 and 2 if desired (bypasses available). Then we’ll stop for lunch near Sardine Point, view huge Western Juniper Trees and then go on to Babbitt Peak Fire Lookout. Due to the Bear Valley Section, this trail is rated 3/10 which is suitable for high clearance, stock 4x4 vehicles.

Gold Valley Trail via Packer Lake and Plumas Eureka State Park. This is a pretty trail in the Gold Lakes Basin and is rated 3/10 making it suitable for stock, high clearance 4x4 vehicles. We’ll have an opportunity to explore Plumas Eureka State Park. There is the option for those wanting more of a challenge to climb up to Gold Lake via the Snake Lake Trail hill (that we normally go downhill). If that optional section is selected it is rated 5/10 and is only suitable for modified 4x4s with lockers.

The TD4WD Club adopted the beautiful Pole Creek OHV Trail and is responsible for annual maintenance to open the trail for the August 1 - November 1 season. Often the trail is blocked by tree falls and the club clears the trail before public opening. This OHV trail is rated 4/10 and is suitable for stock, high clearance 4x4 vehicles with short overhangs.

This is a work party to clean up the TD4WD adopted campground on the start of the Rubicon Trail and afterwards, explore Ellis Peak to enjoy the spectacular view. Bring work gloves and trash bags. Some hiking required to get to the very top of Ellis Peak. Rated 4/10

October 11: Verdi Peak Fire Lookout Ruins and an optional short hike to the top of Ladybird Peak. The trail is rated 3/10 and is suitable for high clearance 4x4 vehicles. We have done this trail in our stock Tacoma four-door 4x4 pickup. The view from the mountain tops is fantastic!

Virginia City via Silver Queen, Jumbo Grade (Eppley) 3/10. We will access the trail from the northeast side of Washoe Lake following historic grades from Virginia City’s Comstock past when milling was not done in Virginia City due to lack of water, but ore was hauled to Washoe Lake or the Carson River. The trails are rated 3/10 and suitable for stock high clearance 4x4 vehicles.
